KleinArticle by Manchic April 30, 2008
In the 80s we wanted our MTV, in the 90s we wanted our Calvin ... in 2008 we desire a lot of things, many of them related to the luxury market, but Calvin Klein is still deep in our hearts, linked with all the right fashion trends. How could you resist to be such a fashionable nerd with a pair of Calvin Klein glasses? At the same time it's easy to imagine ourselves at the pool wearing a trendy pair of Calvin' sunglasses ... maybe drinking our glass of champagne and discretely spying the situation around!
For spring-summer 2008, Calvin Klein Collection Eyewear, produced by Marchon Eyewear, Inc., brings a combination of the quintessential modern shapes with contemporary technical styling. The 947 model, for example, has futuristic digital geometric pattern details and a cool optical mood, the metal frame with its modern rectangle shape is available in bold shades of shiny silver, sand and gunmetal. A contemporary and very confident style.... read more |
What America Has Done To David BeckhamArticle by Manchic February 21, 2008
Unfortunately for all of us, America has changed our good old David Beckham. We are not talking about the "shirtless thing" after the game, like he just had in Hawaii yesterday, thank "god" male nipples are not banned, yet!
No we are talking about a much more serious issue here, speedo! Nobody does speedo in America. I have heard it's very "gay and very European," some people says it is ridiculous, believe me it is not if you have what it takes to fill it ;-)
I know it's a shame to see David who was a speedo lover back in Europe wearing those long shorts on top of his Emporio Armani underwear !!!!! I just hope David will take some European vacations this summer ... because I am done with the Abercrombie swim-trunks and we need more of those moments!!!!!

Music to your earsArticle by Manchic December 19, 2007
Constructed entirely from ceramic, the Phonofone II is clever piece of applied science, a beautiful icon of nostalgia, and a twist on personal listening devices. Through passive amplification, these unique pieces instantly transform any personal music player and earbuds into a sculptural audio console. Upon connecting active earphones to the Phonofone II, the music instantly transforms into a warm, rich, and resonant sound. Without the use of external power or batteries, the Phonofone II inventively exploits the virtues of horn acoustics to boost the audio output of standard earphones to up to 55 decibles (or roughly the maximum volume of laptop speakers). And, to ensure the Phonofone II is a piece of audible art, each piece is signed and contains a serial edition number. For more information, visit www.scienceandsons.com |

Winter WhiteArticle by Manchic December 16, 2007
Eskimos have over 100 words to describe snow because no two kinds of snow are alike. The same can be said for the colour white in fashion. From ecru to eggshell, the shades and tones vary depending on the fabric and finishing of the material.
To keep the look from becoming too monochromatic, insert touches of other colours – grey, black, camel. Also, mix up the fabrics, but keep them luxurious: smooth velvets, buttery-soft cashmeres, and nubbly wools. Look to Savile Row for inspiration on cut and proportion. Classic tailoring is a plus in this situation because a puffy jacket because will make the wearer resemble Frosty the Snowman.
